Using the "The Sock Project" book as your guide, you will learn the basics of knitting socks from the cuff down.

Students have a choice of these 3 patterns from The Sock Project Book by Summer Lee

  1. Basic Sock No. 1
  2. Stripes Recipe No 2
  3. Colorblocked Ribbed Socks (can be the same color throughout)

    Level/ Skill requirements: Beginner "plus" skills to be comfortable using: knitting in the round in your preferred method (magic loop, two circulars, or dpn’s.) Knit, Purl, Sl1, k2tog, SSK, and ribbing.

    Students will learn: 

    • Anatomy of a sock 
    • German Twisted Cast-On for an stretchable cuff 
    • Kitchener Stitch for a seamless toe 
    • Pickup and Knit stitch for the heel flap/gusset

    Supplies & Materials: A copy of The Sock Project book by Summer Lee - found HERE, fingering weight yarn in the number of colors needed for your chosen sock (we recommend some nylon content) such as beWoolen Pigments or beWoolen Sock yarn. Needles - size 2.25mm or 2.5mm depending on your gauge. 

    Homework: Have yarn wound, needles ready.

    Class materials: Yarn for class must be purchased from beWoolen.
