This is a great "next step" Tunisian Crochet project, perfect after you've worked a simple stitch pattern project. Not familiar with Tunisian crochet? Take our Learn to Tunisian Mug Rug class.

The Flipdana consists of two layers: one in the Simple Stitch pattern and the other layer in a fun two stitch pattern that resembles herringbone - it's a bandana that can flip to either layer while not adding extra bulk.

The pattern as written calls for fingering weight yarn in two colors, but our store sample was crafted using Sport/DK weight yarn in three colors; so a variety of yarn weights will work.

Skills learned:
Work 2 pieces to the same dimension (along top edge)
the Tunisian Simple stitch with increases and decreases to create a shaped piece
Tunsian pattern using slipped stitches and purled stitches
Mattress stitch the two layers together, finishing

Materials:
Purchase and print the Flipdana by Natalie@Detroit Knots HERE in Ravelry

Yarn:
Fingering weight yarn in 2 or 3 colors (one solid color for one piece and 2 colors for the patterned piece that have enough contrast to help the pattern POP). We recommend Baah La Jolla, Pascauli Balayage, Malabrigo Finito, or beWoolen Pigments.

OR

Sport weight yarn in 2 colors for the herringbone patterned piece - such as beWoolen Pigments Sport or Cascade 220 Sport, and fluffy multicolor yarn for the Tss piece; store sample used two skeins of Pigments Cloud (a bit more than one skein was needed to complete the piece). If fluff is not your thing, try Cascade 220 Wave Sport or Edition 3 color shifting yarns.

Hooks: TWO sizes are needed, one for each piece: 4.5mm, 5.5mm, swivel cord that is 14"-22" and end stopper - the sizes will be dependent on your tension and size of yarn. We can help you choose the correct size at class if you want to wait to purchase the hook(s).

Notions: locking stitch markers, scissors, tapestry needle

Homework: We highly recommend stopping in prior to the class date to gather your supplies, so that you will have time to wind your yarn & are ready to begin class promptly at 6pm.

Please make sure your contact information is current in your profile,
cell number as well as email - instructor will send a text message prior to the first class.
