A dark and dreary winter without snow? A horrible prospect indeed! Fill your winter with Mr. Gnightley or Sgnome-man. Join Miss Christine for a gnome adventure! With the Snow Matter What pattern, you can use your creative flair to make either gnomes or both. In this class, we suggest using fingering weight yarn.
What You'll Learn:
Students will refresh skills such as working in the round in a small circumference, i-cord, picking up stitches, increases and decreases.
This is a class for a beginner+ knitter. Students must have already done a project or two on knitting in the round using DPNs, Magic Loop, or 2 Circulars.
Prerequisite - knitting in the round with magic loop, 2 circulars, or double point needles.
Materials & Homework:
Purchase and print the Snow Matter What pattern by Sarah Schira HERE.
Purchase and wind three colors of fingering weight yarn, with one of the colors being for the nose and snowball hands. Orange yarn will be provided by the instructor for the carrot nose.
Your full skein yarns can be used to make many gnomes. You may also use the mini-skeins - just be mindful that if you run out, you may need more!
Needles: US 1 and 1.5 mm, 2.25 and 2.5 mm, scissors, yarn needle for weaving in ends and embroidery. A variety of stitch markers come in handy too. beWoolen will provide polyester stuffing and weights.
Make sure yarn is wound, ready for cast on in class. Pick your pattern and be in contact with instructor so all supplies are ready - Christine will be in touch with you prior to your first class.
Please make sure your contact information is current in your profile: cell phone number as well as email; we'll need this information to contact you prior to your first class.
