The Jeju Vest is a great project to knit and a stylish wardrobe staple. Deb has made four vests and two have added stranded colorwork borders (one is a shop sample.) Knit from the top down, it is designed with a relaxed, oversized fit. Because it is knitted from the top down, the length can be adjusted to suit your body.

Purchase the pattern on Ravlery HERE

This project is for beginner "plus" and up. The vest can be knit plain or with a stranded color work border above the bottom ribbing.

Techniques: cast on, knitting flat, knitting in the round, k2tog, decreases, holding stitches and picking up stitches.

What You'll need:
Pattern—printed out, in a book, or downloaded on a tablet. Project yarn purchased from beWoolen (wound if needed) knitting needles (bring extras), markers, scrap yarn or cord for holding stitches, small scissors, yarn needle and a tape measure.

Suggested needle US7/4.5mm or size to get gauge of 18sts x 27r = 4"/10 cm square--bring extra needles, if needed.

Note: Deb has used Nifty Cotton and Friday Harbor for two of her sweaters and Cascade 220 (non-super wash) for the shop sample. beWoolen has many suitable worsted weight yarns for this project. Extra yarn would be needed for the addition of stranded color work.

Homework: Read through the pattern and then choose your size based on the finished size with the amount of ease you prefer. Swatch with project yarn and adjust needle size to get the gauge. You may have to go up or down needle size/s, if needed. Half stitches count! Bring your swatch to class. If the swatch tension is correct, proceed with the cast on.  Please make sure your contact information is current in your profile. (cell phone number as well as email)
