Puno is a wonderfully soft blend of cotton and alpaca. The cotton, which is GOTS certified, and the alpaca come from Peru, where it is also spun for us.
We wanted to create a cotton yarn in different shades without having to dye the fibre. By combining it with undyed alpaca, we created a beautiful palette of subtle natural shades.
The blend of smooth cotton and fluffy alpaca make Puno a great all year round yarn that looks good knitted or crocheted. It has excellent stitch definition and can be used for any kind of textured stitch pattern. It is perfect for light tops and accessories like scarves and shawls It is so pleasingly soft it can be worn next to the skin.
Tip: It is advisable to always order enough yarn for your desired model to ensure you knit your entire project with yarn of the same dye batch.
Care
Knitted garments with Puno can be washed in the washing machine at 86 °F (30°C). It is advisable to use a mild detergent and choose a delicate cycle. Dry flat, preferably on a terry towel, to avoid stretching. Under no circumstances should you dry it directly on a heat source or in the blazing sun! If necessary, the knitted piece can be ironed at the lowest temperature setting.
