Learn to crochet with Miss Alea! She will guide you through the basics you need to know to begin your crochet journey. The book "How to Crochet" has a tablet cover, which can be made into a phone cover or a laptop cover if you don't have a tablet. This is the first in a three part "Learn to Crochet" series. 

There are no prerequesites for this class, it is for people who are starting from scratch, or who are looking for a refresher on the basics.

• how to hold your yarn
• tension
• anatomy of stitches
• chains
• Single crochet
• half double crochet & double crochet (if you are feeling adventurous)

Yarn Choices:  You will need 1 color of a worsted weight yarn. This MUST be in a light color, and almost solid (rather than variegated or speckled) so that you will be able to see your stitches. I recommend Malabrigo Rios or Baah Sonoma for the high twist (makes it easier to not split stitches!). Cascade 220 is another great option.

Homework: Purchase and wind yarn before class. Bring your book as well as hooks, tapestry needle and locking stitch markers.
