Ever wanted to learn how to knit socks? Well this class is a great way to start. In this class we will explore the sock construction from top down, different needles you can use to construct the sock, and even the types of yarns that are best to use for sock construction. Along with how to alter the pattern to fit your foot best.
This is beginner plus class as you need to have knowledge of basic knitting. You will learn knitting through back loop, slip slip knit, knit two together and Kitchener Stitch. You can also experiment with different needles to figure out which style you like to knit socks with. Miss Kate will have extra needles and socks started for you to experiment with using DPN's, Magic loop, two circulars, or 9".
Supplies:
We will be using a fingering weight yarn, suggested yarns are beWoolen Pigments, Malabrigo Ultimate Sock, Four Crows or Cascade Heritage --lots of colors and options to choose from! The pattern is called Vanilla Frosting by Christy Houghton.
You can find the free pattern on Ravelry HERE.
You will also need needles in either 0, 1, or 2 depending on your foot but we can talk about that more at class. and bring all of your notions like stitch markers, darning needle, and scissors.
Homework:
Please come with your yarn wound (if needed) and pattern printed or downloaded into your tablet.
