Skills needed to register for this class: If you have proficient crochet skills, the Loveland Shawl class is great for an adventurous beginner. If you have never picked up a crochet hook in your life, I recommend taking our Tunisian Mug Rug Workshop as a first step.
If you've mastered the basics of Tunisian crochet (such as working the foundation chain, picking up stitches and working the simple stitch) let's take your skills to the next level by making a shawl! In this class we will explore new stitches, increases, decreases, and any other skills you need to complete the Loveland Shawl.
Purchase your pattern: Loveland Shawl by Toni Lipsey.
Materials:
Loveland Shawl pattern purchased and printed, DK or Worsted weight yarn in two colors to equal approximately 800-900 yards (Suggestions: 2 skeins each color in Palmer DK, beWoolen DK, or 2 + 3 skeins of Malabrigo Rios); a 6.5mm-8.0mm Tunisian crochet hook (or size needed to obtain gauge) plus cords (shorter cord to start and then longer as the work grows) and a stitch stopper, locking stitch markers, darning needle, scissor.
Homework: Have your pattern printed and your yarn wound up. Please plan to purchase your yarn and supplies prior to the first day of class so you will have sufficient time for winding.
