First Colorwork Sweater Class

Beginner "plus" Students should know how to knit, purl, and do simple increases or decreases

Dive into the exciting world of colorwork by knitting your very first colorwork sweater! This class is perfect for advanced beginners or intermediate knitters ready to expand their skills and take on a new challenge. In this class, Miss Andrea will help guide you through stranded colorwork techniques to create beautiful designs while knitting a cozy, colorful sweater. We’ll cover everything from reading color charts to sweater construction, ensuring you leave with not only a stunning garment but also the confidence to tackle more advanced colorwork projects in the future.

Choose from one of the following designs:
Brick Lanes Sweater
Tenderheart
Winter Song
Cider Mill


Things we'll cover in class:

  • Sweater shaping and construction
  • Short rows
  • Stranded knitting techniques
  • Finishing (e.g., weaving in ends, blocking) 

Supplies / what you'll need to bring: Pattern (available on Ravelry, have purchased and printed prior to class) • DK or worsted weight yarn and needles appropriate for selected pattern • Double point needles or longer circular needle for magic loop • Stitch markers • Tapestry needle • Scissors • Measuring tape

Homework: Select and purchase your yarn and pattern. Knit and block a gauge swatch in stockinette stitch (in the round) Bring your swatch and materials to class
