Another fun way to expand the granny square – the African Flower Hexagon! Students will enhance their skills, using single crochet, double crochet, triple crochet, decreasing and color changes

Must know the basics of crochet: chains, single crochet, double crochet, treble crochet.

Level: advanced beginner

Skills to be taught:

-making African Flower hexagon

-connecting hexagons

-working in the round

-color changes

Supplies: beWoolen’s sample bag was made with 7 colors, mixed and matched to make 12 hexagons that magically turn into a fun and cute bag!

The sample is made with Pascuali filati naturali – Nepal. This made a smaller bag, but you can choose any weight yarn - the thicker the yarn, the bigger the bag!

Some suggested yarns are Cascade Nifty Cotton, Cascade Friday Harbor, Cascade Grande, Berroco Bozzolo, or Berroco Meraki, Malabrigo Chunky. You will also need whatever hook corresponds to your yarn/pattern, locking stitch markers, scissors, and a tapestry needle.
